About the Philippine Speculative Fiction Blog
The Philippine Speculative Fiction weblog is a repository of thoughts re: speculative fiction (fantasy, horror, science fiction and everything beyond and in between) productions made within the Republic of the Philippines, or by Filipino writers based elsewhere.
It is currently maintained by Rebecca Arcega, and is also a mirror for announcements made in the Philippine Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Yahoogroup.
About the Phil SF and F Mailing List
The Philippine Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Yahoogroup was launched in 2002. It is a moderated list aiming to bring together Filipino science fiction and fantasy enthusiasts based in the Philippines and elsewhere. Discuss your favorite authors, the latest dirt on SF&F works from all around the world, and help define the identity of this genre in the Philippine literary scene. Writers are encouraged to post their work for COMMENTS and CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
Frequently Asked Questions
* What is this blog’s mission?
Essentially, it’s the same as the mission of the Phil SF and F ML: to promote discussion and facilitate the spread of information related to the spec fic scene in the Philippines, and/or spec fic works published by Filipino writers. Comments are very welcome.
* Does fanfiction count as spec fic?
Not for the purposes of this blog, or of the Phil SF and F ML. However, I do believe it does.
* Can I ask you to promote my site/writings/link in your blog?
I’m a bit pressed for time, so I may not be updating this weblog regularly. But if your links are relevant to Philippine spec fic, I’ll try to add it to the Links section as soon as possible, then get back to you.
